Art exhibitions, antique shows and country fairs are just a few of the cultural happenings in and about Stratford in the summer. One of the highlights of this season is an exhibition of the works of internationally renowned Canadian photographer, Edward Burtynsky from his recent gift of 35 photographs at Gallery Stratford.

  • Pull back the curtains and slip behind the scenes. The richest of stage costumes, props and scenic designs that create theatre magic come alive among the over 50,000 items in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Theatre's Costume and Props Warehouse - one of the largest theatre collections in the world.
  • Every summer, for over 40 years, Stratford has offered its annual outdoor art exhibition, Art in the Park, from June until September. Set along the Avon River, art works of every medium are presented in our charming garden district.
  • For those who seek a hands-on arts experience, Stratford Off the Wall is offering a two-week intensive workshop. Working from the text to realization, students will design and build an atmospheric installation inspired by the mysterious world of Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There.   • St. Marys annual celebration of its famous historic limestone architecture is celebrated on July 10, 11, 12 at the Stonetown Heritage Festival.
  • Located on the west end of Stratford , the Stratford-Perth Museum celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Stratford and Perth County. The museum features an 1870’s farm house on a 7 acre site with exhibits, hiking trails and a picnic area. Opening in late June is an exhibit highlighting the industries that put Stratford and Perth County on the map. The museum is a great destination for the whole family.
  • Henry Birks created the finest in quality and craftsmanship while catering to the high standards of Victorian society. Among his clients was James Livingston, a man of refined tastes who purchased the finest pieces for his 1877 “Castle,” in Baden. These heirlooms along with pieces from private collections will be part of a rare new exhibit at Castle Kilbride until August 30, 2009, including artifacts from the Henry Birks Collection of Canadian Silver, on loan from the National Gallery of Canada.
