Stratford Summer Music Program

Four weeks of joyous sounds at Stratford Summer Music

No other place in Ontario has a summer music festival quite like Stratford!

From July 20th to August 16th, Stratford’s streets, riverbanks, gardens, restaurants, churches and concert halls are filled with over 60 concerts, recitals, street theatre and cabarets. From opera to symphonies, jazz and barbershop quartets, bluegrass and master guitarists, and thrilling, yes thrilling, organ performances, critically renowned international musical artists love performing in the garden city of Stratford. The Festival appeals to every musical taste in the most intimate surroundings – from heritage churches and halls to open barges in the afternoon along the river to after-theatre cabarets and jazz concerts. Be transformed by Canada’s star of the Metropolitan Opera, Isabel Bayrakdarian in recital and be delighted by the virtuosity of the world’s hottest young organist, Cameron Carpenter. Or take a trip around the world with some of the world’s great gypsy, jazz, and Sicilian guitarists.

Free concerts abound with barbershop quartets, bluegrass bands, saxophonists and percussion combos. You will be pleasantly surprised as you shop the streets or sit in our outdoor patios to be confronted by itinerant musical groups like Myaudia, Blockwalktalk and Waterworks.

Spend the August 3rd long weekend in Stratford. On Monday, August 3rd from 12:30 – 9 p.m. come celebrate Simcoe Day/Civic Holiday at the OLG Bluegrass Blowout. We can't think of a better way to spend a day with the family than with Creaking Tree String Quartet, Lickin’ Good Fried, the Foggy Hogtown Boys and more. Down home music with an urban twist.
